CLI reference

ase sync

Bring Brain's files in a game's repo up to date: workflows, instructions and the engine SDK.

Requires: a sign-in (ase login) or, in CI, a release credential.

Potentially destructive. Overwrites Brain's files in the checkout: its four workflows, the Brain blocks of AGENTS.md, .gitattributes and brain/game.toml, and the engine package's own files, and installs the SDK as ase sdk install does, untracking it in git. With --all it overwrites every template file whole, brain/events.toml included, and rewrites brain/game.toml, losing its comments. It commits nothing: git restores what it overwrote.

ase sync [OPTIONS] --game <GAME>
Argument Description
--game <GAME> Required. The game's id.
--project <PROJECT> The game's repo checkout; the current directory by default. Default ..
--all Write every template file, not only Brain's (a new game).
--servers With --all: the game ships a server build, so it gets lobbies. A folder written from scratch has no release.toml to say so.
--addon-from <ADDON_FROM> Install a local SDK payload instead of the selected package payload.
--keep-addon Leave the installed SDK as it is.
--rotate-ingest-key Prepend a new telemetry write key in brain/game.toml; publish config before shipping it.
